Car accidents that involve tractor trailers are often severe, if not fatal. A regular sized car or even a smaller truck does not have physics on its side when it is involved in a collision with an 18-wheeler. Tragedy surrounds tractor trailer accidents because of their enormous size. Even when a driver is passed by one of those massive motor vehicles, their car usually shakes. A Nebraska man was tragically killed recently in a car wreck that involved a semi-truck and another car.
According to Nebraska authorities, the 44-year-old man was killed after attempting to make a left turn when he was struck from behind by another car. His car then slid into the opposing lane where it was struck by a semi-truck that was carrying a load of rock. The car finally came to rest in a ditch on the other side of the roadway.
The driver of the car was a 22-year-old Nebraskan, while the driver of the 18-wheeler truck was 48 years old. Neither was taken to the hospital after the accident occurred. It was said that all three men were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident.
The family of the Nebraska man who was killed in the car wreck retains the right to seek reimbursement of financial damages sustained. If compensation is awarded, it could be used to pay any final expenses that typically burdens families in similar circumstances. Though this will never bring the man back to life, it could allow the family to focus on coping with the loss instead of worrying about the financial impact of the tragedy.
