Wright Conserve Hip

The Wright Conserve consists of three main pieces: a cobalt-chromium acetabular cup implanted in the pelvis, CoCr femoral ball, and a femoral stem These devices have NOT been recalled. The metal-on-metal articulation at the femoral ball and acetabular cup can cause wear and fretting and/or corrosion of the device. Injuries include elevated levels of heavy metals chromium and cobalt, pseudotumor, necrosis of tissue surrounding the implant, and metallosis. Multidistrict legislation has been established in the ND of Georgia.
