Nebraska car accident leaves 2 injured

New drivers are not as experienced as those that have been on the road for a longer period of time. Although this is not always an issue, it can create problems when these young drivers are put in situations while behind the wheel that benefit from experience. These kinds of situations can quickly escalate into accidents and may even leave those involved with serious injuries. Unfortunately, one car accident in Nebraska involving a new driver recently sent two people to the hospital.

The accident took place on a mid-November afternoon and involved two motor vehicles. The collision is believed to have occurred when a 16-year-old driver attempted to avoid colliding with stopped traffic and lost control of his vehicle. He then crossed the median and struck another vehicle.

Emergency personnel arrived at the scene of the accident and transported the driver of the second vehicle and his female passenger to the hospital. It was reported that their injuries were not life-threatening. The young driver who is believed to have caused the accident was cited for negligent driving, along with simple possession of marijuana.

Regardless of whether the young man is charged criminally for his involvement in the Nebraska car accident, the injured victims may have the right to seek monetary compensation. They may seek compensation by filing a personal injury suit claiming that the young driver's negligent act caused the accident. If their claim is successful, compensation could help pay medical bills and cover other losses that resulted from the injuries sustained in the accident.
