What kinds of Activities are Considered Distracted Driving?
Today I’m going to tell you a little bit about what kinds of activities people engage in while driving that Nebraska law recognizes as “distracted driving”.
You’ve just been in an accident with a driver who was driving erratically, or who pulled out in front of you like he didn’t even see you and you’re thinking that this driver may have been texting at the wheel, or something similar.
Texting and Driving is Against the Law
In Nebraska, distracted driving is negligent driving and includes any activity that causes someone to drive unsafely. Examples include:
-
Texting
-
Using a cell phone
-
Eating and drinking
-
Grooming
-
Reading, including maps
-
Using a navigation system
-
Watching a video
-
JUST NOT PAYING ATTENTION
It can be tricky to find evidence in order to prove these things and a distracted driving accident attorney could help you collect the evidence you need to prove your case.
