Car accidents that injure the victims involved can be tragic enough for the families of the victims, but when a victim is killed, it can take an even heavier emotional toll on people. Not being able to say goodbye to their loved one can make the event harder for the family, especially if the driver who caused the accident does not stay at the scene. Unfortunately, a hit-and-run accident in Nebraska caused the wrongful death of one man.

The accident took place recently and took the life of one Nebraska resident after he was struck by a motor vehicle. According to the initial investigation, the man was walking his dog near his home when the driver struck him on a gravel road. This threw the man into a ditch, after which the driver of the vehicle that hit him promptly drove away.

The man was found by his wife shortly after the accident took place, and emergency personnel were called to the accident. The man was pronounced deceased at the scene shortly after emergency personnel arrived. The accident is currently under investigation by Nebraska police as they attempt to find the driver of the vehicle.

Once the driver who caused the wrongful death of the man is found, he or she may be charged by Nebraska police for his or her involvement. However, even if the driver is not charged criminally, the family of the deceased victim may have the right to seek monetary compensation. This type of compensation could be used by the family to pay for any of the victim’s final expenses.
