If children live near the school that they attend, they often walk to and from school. This is generally a safe action, but when drivers on the road do not pay attention, dangerous situations can ensue. The lack of protection that students have while walking can leave them seriously injured if they are involved in an accident with an automobile. Unfortunately, one car accident in Nebraska recently left two students with injuries.
The accident took place on the morning of March 24 at around 7 a.m. and involved one car and two pedestrians. The accident occurred as the two students were heading to school when the motor vehicle struck both of them. The two victims, who were brother and sister, were transported to the hospital for the injuries that they suffered. They were transported to the hospital in critical condition, but they were said to be conscious after the accident took place.
The current condition of the two victims is unknown at this time, but their injuries were said to be non-life-threatening. The driver of the vehicle was not injured during the accident. Nebraska police are currently investigating the collision.
Once the investigation of the car accident is completed, the two injured victims may have the right to seek monetary compensation. Compensation could be used to pay for any hospital bills that are received because of their injuries from the car accident. Hopefully, this would allow the two victims to focus on recuperating and returning to their normal routines instead of their parents worrying about hospital bills.
