Some accidents are caused by events that were not preventable, but if a person drives under the influence of alcohol, there is no excuse. The injuries and deaths that are caused by someone driving drunk are senseless and could have been prevented if the driver had made responsible decisions. Unfortunately, one man in Nebraska may have caused a car accident that hurt several people.

The accident took place on the evening of Feb. 2 at around 6:30 p.m. and involved two vehicles. The accident was caused when a truck supposedly ran a stop sign and struck a taxi that was transporting one person. Emergency personnel arrived soon after the accident took place and transported the two injured individuals to the hospital.

The driver of the pickup truck fled the scene of the accident. However, police picked him up soon thereafter, and he was charged with several offenses, including third offense driving under the influence. The current condition of the taxi driver and his passenger is not known at this time, but they both remain hospitalized.

Regardless of whether or not the man is convicted for his involvement in the Nebraska car accident, the injured victims may have the right to seek monetary compensation for their injuries. Compensation could be used by the victims to pay any hospital bills or other medical expenses that they received because of their injuries from the accident. Hopefully, this could relieve some of the stress that is often placed on victims when they receive unexpected bills and will allow the injured to focus on healing and returning to their normal routine.
