A car accident can be a devastating time for family members as well as the victim. When a family loses their loved one under negligent circumstances, it can be even harder to accept. A recent Nebraska car accident has claimed the life of a young woman.

The accident involved four vehicles and was said to have been caused by a man driving a stolen truck. The truck was reportedly towing a trailer with other stolen items believed to be lawn care equipment. The woman’s boyfriend was also seriously injured and transported to a local hospital. His condition was last listed as fair.

The driver that caused the accident was arrested on several charges including leaving the scene of an accident. While this can be an emotionally draining time for the victim’s families, they may want to think about filing a civil suit against the driver. With the investigation continuing, the families can use this time to gather any needed information and research the best way to proceed with their case. Medical bills and burial expenses are just a few of the things the families will face and the sooner they take action, the sooner they can hope to receive fair compensation.

Any Nebraska victim or family member of a victim that has faced the tragedy of a car accident could benefit from knowing their rights under the applicable state laws. When facing a long road to recovery, having a fair monetary settlement can prove beneficial. A victim often misses work and is faced with physical therapy or other expensive forms of long term treatment. By taking a proactive approach, a person can be hopeful their financial future will be protected.
