It is common for people in Nebraska and others living elsewhere to begin the day with a bowl of cereal. However, fans of breakfast cereal should take note of a recent recall by Kellogg’s.
Kellogg’s has recalled certain sized packages of their Special K Red Berries cereal. The company has warned consumers that some packages may contain glass fragments. Only the 11.2 ounce packages, 37 ounce packages and 22.4 ounce twin packs are affected by the recall.
This isn’t the first time that Kellogg’s has had to recall cereal. Last year, certain kinds of the Mini-Wheats cereals were recalled because of the risk of flexible metal mesh fragments being in the cereal.
Fortunately, it does not appear that anyone has been injured in this latest round of recalls. However, that is not always the case. Consumers can be left with serious and even fatal injuries if they come in contact with a defective product.
Manufacturers of all kinds of products, from toys to food products to prescription drugs, need to be sure safety is their number one priority. Sadly, an innocent consumer could suffer as a result of one company’s desire to cut corners.
When people are harmed as a result of a negligent manufacturer they may be able to hold the company responsible through legal action. After all, consumers should not have to suffer financial hardships because of a manufacturer’s negligence.
Nebraska residents who have suffered injuries and families who have lost a loved one as a result of a defective product would likely benefit from discussing their case with an experienced attorney.
