One of the first questions we often hear from callers involves whether or not they need a lawyer and how they make the decision on whether or not to hire one. Our first response is that if you are in a position where you are wondering if you need a lawyer, you should call one that practices in the area of your question and explain your situation. In our office we are always happy to visit with callers that have that question! We know what questions to ask and under what circumstances you might need professional assistance. After we visit, if we don’t think you need a lawyer, we will tell you that, and it is our experience that most lawyers will do the same thing.
In our office we never charge anything for the first consultation and if we offer to take your case it will be on a “contingency fee” basis. Our fee will be based on a percentage of the amount we help you collect. We will not collect a fee unless we are successful in helping you with your case. Some other lawyers, particularly those who handle cases that do not involve injury claims, may charge something for their initial visit. You should feel free to ask about fees when you schedule your visit.
At Friedman Law Offices we handle all kinds of cases in which someone has been injured whether at work or due to the negligence of someone else. When this happens there are medical bills, wage loss, impairment and pain. The civil justice system or Workers’ Compensation statutes may allow the injured person to be compensated for the consequences of these injuries. Unless you have prior experience or training in this area it can be hard to know if you are entitled to this compensation and how to go about collecting it. Nobody wants to collect more money than they are entitled to but the laws exist to protect the injured and you may need help to make sure you are treated fairly.
If you have questions about a legal issue and you are not sure if you need a lawyer, we would encourage you to call one to get your answers, If you have been injured and wonder if you have a case or even if you just have questions about how things should go after your injury we hope that you will call us.
