People who live in the Midwest are used to extreme weather conditions. In the summer, many states experience extreme heat. In the winter, many Midwestern states are hit with frigid temperatures and snow storms.
When bad weather hits, people need to be sure they use more caution when they get behind the wheel of a car or other kind of motor vehicle. As two recent fatal accidents prove, a life can be taken in an instant when drivers aren’t careful in dangerous driving conditions.
The first accident happened shortly after midnight when a vehicle went off the road. The 24-year-old driver died at a nearby hospital. Two passengers suffered injuries in the crash.
The second accident happened around 8 a.m. Authorities say icy conditions caused a 43-year-old driver to lose control of his vehicle. He crashed into another vehicle being driven by a 29-year-old woman. The 43-year-old driver died. The 29-year-old woman was taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries sustained in the crash.
Families who lose a loved one as a result of another driver’s negligence may be overcome with grief. They may also be forced to deal with financial difficulties as a result of a fatal crash.
Fortunately, surviving family members in Lincoln can pursue legal action against a reckless driver. They may be able to obtain compensation to cover medical and funeral expenses. A successful wrongful death lawsuit may also provide family members with a sense of justice, which may allow them to move forward with their lives.
