Nebraska fatal accident takes a life in Omaha

Car accidents can be serious enough if trucks are involved, but if a motorcycle is caught in the collision the severity of the accident can be increased dramatically. The lack of protection that a motorcycle provides its rider, combined with the widespread negligence of drivers when motorcycles are around, can quickly create dangerous situations. These situations sometimes lead to an accident that injures or even kills the motorcycle rider. Unfortunately, one fatal accident in Nebraska recently killed a rider.

The accident took place on the afternoon of Sept. 24 at around 2 p.m. and involved a truck and a motorcycle. Initial investigations suggested that the driver of the truck was attempting to turn into westbound lanes of the road when it collided with the eastbound motorcycle. The motorcycle rider was a 30-year-old man from out of state.

The biker passed away after the accident occurred. The driver of the truck had no reported injuries, and no other individuals were involved in the accident. The collision is still under investigation by Nebraska police.

Once the investigation of the fatal accident has been completed, the family of the deceased victim may have the right to seek monetary compensation for the loss of life. Compensation could be used to pay for any final expenses of the victim as well as provide the family with a small sense of justice for the death. This could allow the family to focus on coming to terms with their tragic loss. To prevail, it will be necessary to establish by relevant proof that the truck driver was negligent in violating the cyclist's right of way and thus caused or substantially contributed to the fatal accident.
